ICD-10 Challenge July 31, 2015

Identify both the diagnosis code and the external cause code for the following:

Cervical strain due to car accident, secondary to loss of control and collision with tree. Patient was the restrained driver and is seeking care immediately following the accident.

I came up with S16.1XXA and V47.52XA.

The correct answer is S16.1xxA and V47.52xA

RATIONALE: The Alphabetic Index main term is Strain, cervical resulting in code S16.1 with a seventh character of "A" for initial encounter. The Alphabetic Index of External Causes main term is Accident, subterms transport, car occupant, driver, collision (with), stationary object, resulting in code V47.52 with a seventh character of "A" for initial encounter.
