Nephrotic syndrome

Postby Shoshana » Thu Feb 22, 2018 1:26 pm

Can we give "location" in the HPI for "admitted due to nephrotic syndrome"?

The quality is that it is "resistant to oral steroid treatment". Modifying factor is "been on outpatient steroids without resolution of his swelling".

Recommended he be admitted for albumin and furosemide as well as methylprednisolone therapy. Otherwise he has been stable. (Can I get an element for either of these in the HPI?)

Nephrotic syndrome is not a kidney disorder, but rather a group of signs and symptoms stemming from a disorder of the kidneys. Location cannot be credited in this case.
