We are going through internal audit, and the auditor is using status of 1-2 chronic as HPI element. I'm not understanding how that works. I understand and find documentation to support the status of 3 chronic but nothing on 1-2 chronic. Can someone shed insight please.

Who is your MAC provider? Mine is First Coast Service Options and they require status of 3 chronic/inactive conditions. I have never seen anything less than 2-3 chronic/inactive conditions.

Cahaba is my MAC. my concern is when she indicates 1-2 chronic condition she is allowing an brief without counting HPI elements and its on the report, I don't want my providers to think that it's acceptable.
