follow-up to assess for further oncology treatment

Postby Shoshana » Fri Jan 26, 2018 6:37 pm

If a patient returns to the oncology clinic after his first cycle of chemo and is feeling better (states better than he has felt in last 3-4 months), but needs to proceed with cycle #2 of a planned 3 cycle treatment, can this be counted as establish problem worsening since we are having to continue the treatment? Labs are reviewed and decision to continue to 2nd cycle of chemo agreed on. there is a comprehensive examination and a detailed interval history. I feel like this is a 99214 due to the medical complexity of the patient. Opinions??
