Can we bill under a PCP when a RN provides the service and the PCP is not in the office? Another provider in the same group is on staff to supervise the RN but the office wants it billed under the PCP so he will get the payment. I understand Medicare's requirement of supervision for performing the AWV:
● Medical professional (including a health educator, registered dietitian, nutrition professional, or other licensed practitioner), or a team of medical professionals directly supervised by a physician (doctor of medicine or osteopathy)"
But does directly supervised mean it must be billed under the supervising physician?
