Below are the questions received during our recent webinar, Telehealth vs. Telemedicine originally presented on November 05, 2019. These questions have been answered by the webinar presenter, Brenda Edwards, CPC, CDEO, CPB, CPMA, CPC-I, CEMC, CRC, CPMS, CMRS, CMCS

Question 1:
Can an office bill the Q3014 as well as the cpt code for the service they provided?
Answer 1:
The office where the provider is located would bill the E/M or other service provided with POS 2. The originating site bills the Q3014. You cannot be both the originating and distant site for Medicare.

Question 2:
Some insurances are including mental/behavioral health with telemedicine for 2020. Will these visits be billed similar to what they are now?
Answer 2:
It will depend on the payor; most allow more lattitude in services for telehealth than Medicare will. You would expect them to be similar to what they are now though.
