Incomplete Glucose Tolerance Test

In the scenario that a 2-hour glucose tolerance test is ordered, the initial fasting specimen is obtained as well as specimens at one hour and at two hours, this would normally be coded as CPT 82951, GTT 3 Specimens. If something happens to one of the second or third specimens, ie. broken or whatever reason not viable, and only one other specimen resulted, would it be appropriate to code this as 82951 with a 52 modifier since the initial order was for a 3-specimen test and 3 were obtained, OR would it be appropriate to code 82947 and 82950 for what was actually completed. Appreciate any insight!!! Thanks!
