Can someone help resolve this dilemma? Can the inpatient neonatal and pediatric critical care codes, CPT 99468-99476 be billed as split/shared visits? CMS states that critical care (99291 and 99292) cannot be split/shared, so doesn't it make sense that the same would apply for the neonatal and pediatric codes? I cannot find guidance anywhere on this issue and need to resolve this. Any info will be appreciated!

Hello,
This is an older publication on critical care by MedLearn Matters prior to the change in neo/ped critical care coding, but if you notice the split shared advisement was here. I believe that provides us with guidance that this rule would apply to any critical care services.
